Old Sydney Town visited Present Sydney Town at Martin Plaza this afternoon. The convicts and company from Old Sydney Town at Somersby entertained lunchtime crowds, and will be returning tomorrow for another display. The highlight was the bare knuckle slogging match and some of the pics show the reaction of the big crowd as the contestants battle it out, included among them a small white dog who showed interest in the performance. The public flogging did not eventuate because of old Sydney Town management concern about public reaction to it. However three little girls, Sistes Marghita 3, Claudia 8, and Nance 10 Bradney of Mosman took great interest in this Admiral Pattern Flagellator, an authentic version, as displayed by chief flogger Max Aspin, and John Wright, A Bosun on the Brig Perseverance.
