The reel features a thumb push button that children can push in to stop their line coming out the reel. This is how kids can learn to cast with the rod. After they have pushed the button in, they can gently bring the rod behind their head and then jerk the rod forward and release the button at the correct moment. This will produce an effective cast and help children practice with their practice plug before they get into the water. The rod and reel are red and blue in colour to match the famous Spiderman's colours and the casting plug is red in colour. The rod handle includes a sticker of the superhero Spiderman and he is also featured on the packaging design.
