Robo Worm is a hi-tech robot that mimics the locomotion of caterpillars. The movements of the ring-shaped muscles are simulated by controlled magnetisation of the metal rings on the inside of the silicon tube. This enables locomotion on extremely uneven surfaces and in places that are difficult to access, such as in ducts or disaster zones.
