CHARLESTON, Ore. – Spears, spear guns and angling with bait to harvest smallmouth bass will be allowed on the Coquille River through Halloween in an effort to reduce the impact the non-native fish species has on wild fall Chinook salmon, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildfire said. "There are no size or bag limits on bass harvest in the Coquille," the agency said in a press release.
