My first mentor in Maine was a cabinetmaker from Boston. His talent superseded him and the willingness to share his craft, impacted my life forever. In his home hung a Pennsylvania long rifle in curly maple that he’d made. His tutelage began by engrossing me in the history of that piece, how they were made originally, and what they were made I became a cabinetmaker that day / at least in my own mind. Paul too was a fly fisherman - in the classic style. In homage to him, comes “The Classic” curly maple that is selected, shaped, and finished much like the long rifles we made, finished similarly yielding that warm caramel hue that beckons your spirit, touch and story. Thank you Paul Designed to accommodate a 4-piece rod (up to 10’) this piece will house your finest fly rod in style. Dyed curly maple, black walnut, abalone shell, leather, brass, mixed metals, and shell. Custom sizes are available for those with 2 and 3 piece rods, upwards of 51” in length.
